The thesis should identify the question to be addressed, explain what is at stake and why it is important, and take a stand on the question. The specific topic is up to you, with the requirement that you focus on a particular aspect of Mary in modernity, have a clear thesis statement, and make a distinct, well organized, and well-demonstrated argument.
